| Accused Damond killer appears in US court
A former Minneapolis police officer who shot and killed an unarmed Australian woman last year after she called 911 to report a possible assault didn't speak in a brief court appearance.
Mohamed Noor is charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the July 15 death of Justine Ruszczyk Damond.
Assistant Hennepin County Attorney Amy Sweasy said Tuesday that prosecutors have been providing evidence to the defence as part of discovery. Sweasy told Judge Kathryn Quaintance that no plea negotiations are underway.
Prosecutors say Noor was in a squad car's passenger seat when he shot Damond through the driver's side window after she approached the vehicle. They say there is no evidence Noor encountered a threat that justified deadly force.
Noor's attorney has filed documents indicating Noor will plead not guilty.
It will be interesting to see how this pans out; but I doubt if we will see justice prevail.

|If he was SO, SO innocent, how come he's now a former police officer? Did the mayor dump him? Did she do a "Pontius Pilate" number on poor Mohamed? There is going to be some bull#%^* in the courthouse, before it's over! 🤔|

You can bet his partner that day will have some serious questions to answer as well, Tipping his career might be over as well once this trial has ended, On a brighter note: If he does plea not Guilty and is found Guilty then the will cope the highest sentence, hopefully that's the death plenty, but we will wait and see.
