As we wind down this series of Burning Questions I’m ramping up the opportunities to score points.

This week’s question involves cars. I’ll provide a definition and require a brand and model to match that definition.

e.g. A bird of prey = Ford Falcon (there are others beside this make and model that fit this definition)

Here are 10 for you to find.

1. A medium sized antelope found in eastern and southern Africa

2. A soft gentle breeze

3. A free roaming horse of the American west.

4. An apparent horizon

5. A commissioned officer in the navy

6. A male deer

7. A government official living in a foreign country

8. A bird that supposedly spreads happiness

9. A highly respected politician

10. A person who searches for something

This week's questions brought a variety of answers, some just as "correct" as the answer I had in mind when I first posted the questions.

Here are the answers in envisaged (in red) together with other acceptable responses.

1. A medium sized antelope found in eastern and southern Africa
Chevrolet Impala, Singer Gazelle (The gazelle is more wide-spread than the areas mentioned but it fits the bill)

2. A soft gentle breeze
Ford Zephyr

3. A free roaming horse of the American west.
Ford Mustang

4. An apparent horizon
Nissan Skyline, Mitsubishi Mirage (The mirage is more "apparent" while the Skyline is an apparent "Horizon". Both fine.)

5. A commissioned officer in the navy
Holden Commodore, Vanguard Standard Ensign, Opel Kapitan, Jeep/Chrysler Commander (and others - all commissioned naval officers)

6. A male deer
Triumph Stag

7. A government official living in a foreign country
Ford Consul, Hindustani/AMC Ambassador, Dodge/Opel Diplomat (all acceptable)

8. A bird that supposedly spreads happiness
Nissan/Datsun Bluebird, Doretti Swallow (I wasn't expecting any other bird than the bluebird, but in some cultures the swallow is linked to health and wealth and is often a symbol used in tattoos - all of which can be linked to "happiness")

9. A highly respected politician
Holden Statesmen. I also received Holden/Chrysler Premier and Studebaker President. (I'm not sure that Premiers and Presidents always qualify as being "highly respected" but that's me being pedantic!)

10. A person who searches for something
Hillman Hunter, Ford/Jeep Explorer, Ford Escort Huntsman and others (all OK)

All our regular entrants came up with 10 acceptable answers so 10 out of 10 for all. I am giving bonus points however. Lee came up with Toyota Seca for number 10. Very clever and deserving of a bonus! And Jonno had the most of the red answers I was expecting.

How could I have I forgotten the Hillman Hunter, I bought one as my first car. It was British Racing Green and a great little car. It did have one problem for a while, I would be driving along and suddenly it would stop, lights etc and all. It made for exciting motoring and no one could find what was causing it. The problem eventually disappeared, back to where it came from I suppose.

I owned a Commodore for a long time but didn't think of that, instead I went with the Vangaurd Standard Ensign. http://fairdinkumnewschat.com/rolleyes.gif

I thought of the Nissan Skyline early in the week, but when sending my answers to Charles this morning I forgot it and put in the Mitsubishi Mirage. http://fairdinkumnewschat.b1.jcink.com/uploads/fairdinkumnewschat/smiley_don_t_know.gif

Must be age related or Old Timers setting in. http://fairdinkumnewschat.com/unsure.gif
