Inside the lives of the notorious Evil 8 paedophiles

WARNING: Distressing content

It began with a small advertisement among dozens of others on the online sewer that is the personal pages of Craigslist.

As these types of online ads go, it was not that offensive. A drug-free, single father with a young daughter was looking for friendship. The only issue was that he and his daughter could not “host”.

But there was nothing innocent in this innocuous little notice. It was an invitation to join him in evil, and it got plenty of replies.

The first, in January 2013, was from Ryan Clegg, a man who had drifted from job to job and drug to drug since his teens. A life of petty crime and intermittent work had led to Clegg having several partners over the years, including one with whom he bought a second-hand computer.

On that machine was a cache of child porn. When he saw it, Clegg was not repulsed or disgusted. He was aroused.

The ad caught his eye. Another lonely bloke with a young daughter, then aged just 11.

After contact was made, pages and pages of messages flowed between them, each more perverted than the last.

An arranged meeting at a motel in Scarborough was the beginning of two years of abuse of the girl which would shock the city and the country — and scar her for life.

Along with Clegg, six more men including a church pastor, a photographer, a sales rep and a handyman made contact, all with the same sick intent. An intent facilitated by her father.

Throughout 2014, a string of men was granted permission by the father to unleash their perversions on his daughter.

Troy Phillip Milbourne, then 40, met them on a beach in Quinns Rocks, and went home and took a shower with the girl after she had been bullied by her father into co-operating. Milbourne had sex with the girl, which the father walked in on.

“I was trying to look after my girl,” Milbourne later told the police.
Benjamin Simon Clarke, 48, was an amateur photographer who used Craigslist to advertise his interest. But he also had an entrenched interest in young children. He had served time for the abuse of a 12-year-old in 1988.

With contact established, Clarke took pictures of the man’s daughter clothed, but then negotiated to take more pictures with less clothes.

Clarke visited sex shops to buy the outfits he wanted her to wear and then took her to a disused mine site so she could wear them.

Back at the house, he exposed himself to her and tried to kiss her — and when she refused and laughed at him, he resorted to masturbating over her as she lay on a bed. He left the pictures he had taken of her on a USB stick in the letterbox and sent them to others he met online.

Nicholas Adam Beer, 36, was also into photography.

The 28,000 child porn images on his computer was gruesome evidence of that. But he also took his own.

After online contact, the girl’s father took his daughter to Beer’s Wanneroo home in March 2014. She was met with bondage restraints which shackled her by the hands and ankles to a bed.

She was made to wear a black full-face mask with a gag and a dog collar with the inscription, Bitch. Beer took hundreds more photos, and two videos showing him abusing the girl.

“She’s come to this point having been incredibly abused and taken advantage of, but at (this) point she presents as somewhat desensitised to the process, quite comfortable and at ease,” Beer’s lawyer Justine Fisher said.

In the same month, David Volmer — a self-styled progressive pastor from a church in Carramar — was carrying on a “sexual double life”. Part of that was placing his own Craigslist ad offering “sexual massage”.

The girl’s father answered. A hotel room was booked. And despite Volmer knowing the girl was obviously too young he abused her anyway, making her sniff amyl nitrate and touching her indecently as she cried.

Almost a year later, Volmer contacted the father again, concocting a sick fantasy involving the girl, blindfolds and a story of blackmail. Such was the level of abuse, the father left a front door unlocked so Volmer could just walk in and begin his abuse again.

Yesterday, the last of those men — Alfred Impicciatore — was found guilty of abusing the girl, after trying to dodge his dirty deeds for almost two years.

Impicciatore was arrested along with the others and gave police a story similar to the others. Trawling the internet for sex, he had come across the girl’s father, who sent him a naked picture of his daughter and then asked him round.

After small talk he was asked whether he wanted to have sex with the girl, or wanted to watch. He chose the former, applying a viagra gel and using a condom.

The difference with Impicciatore was that he denied the rape charges to the end, having skipped the State on the eve of one trial and then offering scant defence in the other.

He repeatedly told police: “He told me she was 17.”

The guilty verdict brought to an end a two-year judicial process which began after a public tip-off to police, and prompted the girl’s removal from the northern suburbs home she shared with her father — a father who was eventually jailed for more than 22 years, a sentence upheld on appeal.

That home was where much of the abuse took place.

An interview she gave with specially trained child sex investigators outlined experiences that shocked everyone who heard them.

“We say this case represents one of the most serious examples of sexual offending against a child ever to appear before a criminal court in this State,” prosecutor Justin Whalley told the court during the father’s sentencing hearing last year.

“The voluntary provision ... of his own natural daughter to be sexually exploited by a series of male strangers represents an egregious breach of trust ... a complete subversion of the proper role of a parent.

“Instead, (he) has treated her as a sexual object to satisfy his own sexual desires and the sexual desires of other like-minded paedophiles.”

A group now known as the Evil 8.

I thought long and hard before posting this story. In the end I thought turning our backs on such happenings is exactly what these sick individuals would want. As distressing as such stories can be, they need to be dragged out into the open and the perpetrators held up for the disgust and condemnation they deserve.
There are some truly evil people in this world who have little or no regard for their victims. Will this poor girl ever be able to put these traumas behind her to live a "normal" life? My thoughts are with her. She needs all the support she can receive.

I cannot understand how "people" can inflict this on a defenceless child. They are monsters! How do they live with themselves? Life in prison would not be enough. Twenty odd years is inadequate. How do these "men" look at themselves and what do they see when they do? I can't get my head around this behaviour.

This behaviour is beyond my understanding.
Some people just need to be shot.

Such should be put to death - the so called 'father' is the most evil of this pack - no father I know would ever expose his daughter to such.

Technology might have advanced, but the same can not be said for some corners of our debauched society!

"Woman shall get a strange old craze
to dress like men and britches wear.
And cut off their beautiful locks of hair.
And ride astride with brazen brow
As witches do on broomsticks now

Love shall die and marriage cease
Ane babies and sucklings so decrease
That wives shall fondle cats and dogs
and men live much the same as hogs."

The black side of technology is assisting them in their foul actions, the good side of technology has effective, lingering poisons which should be administered immediately, no deals, no appeals, no death row 'residents'.
